Office Specialization

Since 1 January 2009, a new work organization model has been in place within official statistics, resulting from the introduction of specialization among statistical offices. This model involves assigning specific statistical surveys to individual offices for implementation across the entire country.

As part of this specialization, two centres have been established within the Statistical Office in Kielce:

Centre for Non-Observed Economy Surveys (OGN) – its responsibilities include the secondary survey “Non-Observed Economy Survey”, under which the following activities are carried out:

  • estimates of the shadow economy, based on surveys of entities employing up to 49 persons,
  • estimates of illegal activities in the areas of prostitution, drug-related activities, and smuggling, based on data from administrative sources.

Centre for Trade and Services Statistics (OSH) – its responsibilities include the organization and implementation of surveys in the following areas:

  • domestic trade and catering,
  • international trade in services,
  • assessment of enterprises providing business support services,
  • demand for services.
